Honestly, I don't catch up with GE but...
nowadays i can't complete reading ST without getting pissed.

The first thing you see on the frontpage of Home is,
"SDP split widens"
written in probably font size 100.

Yo! Even if it's true, couldn't you put it on like page 5 or 6?
You HAD to put it right smack on the frontpage
where everybody could see it.

And behind those words,
exploded 8 times bigger is a picture
of 3 SDP people sitting at the KOPITIAM
looking UNhappy in discussion.

Page 2:
"Four more SDP leaders to say sorry"
in a font bigger than usual.

Page 3:
"PAP has not kept to its promises: SDP"
in a font 2 times smaller than usual.

How come PAP's statements always get bigger space???
Unless if it were defaming statements, then the opposition gets the glory.

Pages 6 & 7:
- The Gomez saga

Written in fonts so BIG, the headlines took up 2 pages long
"An issue that cries out for explanation"

Then underneath those words there's a blown-up photograph of 4 people.

In Principles of Design, we learned that a dominant image is one that
catches our eye first due to contrast, space, colours etc.

80% of the photo was taken up by 3 random people
and their gigantic yellow, purple and red garlands.
And at the back, out peeks the head of Mr Gomez,
taking up less than 10% of the photo and almost out of focus.

And at the bottom it reads:
'Mr Gomez, seen here at a rally with East Coast GRC candidate Eric Tan, Ms Lim and Mr Low, admitted he had not submitted any application for a minority certificate.'

Ironic. They were trying to force attention to him.

So they printed out 2-page long FULL statements made by the ministers on Gomez.

And on the 2nd page, written in smaller print is,
"Apology sincere, let voters judge: Low"
Low Thia Khiang is WP's chief.

Who exactly is defaming who now?

The rule of journalism states:

- Your greater obligation is to your readers (even if the sources want the story to appear a certain way)
- You must use judgment and always keep in mind the need to be fair.
- You have a responsibility to your readers.
- You must tell your readers the truth — even if it angers your sources to hear it.

Their mind game's not gonna work on everyone.

.Please vote wisely.
